Though specifics on individual appointments were not disclosed, the unveiling signals a clear restart as they aim to rebuild and sharpen their approach ahead of the new campaign.

Editorial

We welcome this fresh start with cautious optimism. Overhauling the technical structure presents a tangible opportunity to reset the club’s direction, refocus on competitive standards, and inject renewed energy throughout the squad.

We sense a deliberate effort to forge unity and determination behind the scenes—elements too often overlooked but essential for consistency on the field. A cohesive backroom team provides tactical clarity and institutional strength; our belief is that this reorganisation can translate into performance improvements.

We trust that, as the team gels, the effects will ripple across training, match preparation, and overall club morale. This isn’t just about change for change’s sake, but a strategic refocus on what Shooting Stars stand for. That conviction has driven us from the start and remains our guiding principle today.

Did You Know?

Shooting Stars SC, nicknamed the Oluyole Warriors, were among the founding clubs of Nigeria’s national league in 1972.

The club claimed Nigeria’s first-ever continental title by winning the African Cup Winners’ Cup in 1976.

Their home ground is the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, with a capacity close to 10,000 spectators.

The 2025–26 is scheduled to kick off on 22 August 2025.

Shooting Stars have long enjoyed one of the strongest fan bases in Nigerian football, with deep roots in community [identity](https://www.footballinnigeria.com.ng/merchandising-and-branding/end-of-the-road-luton-town-part-ways-with-victor-moses/) and pride.
